An American in Paris

OK I've been slacking but not updating the blog at the end of the trip (yes I actually got an email wondering if I was home yet).

So on my second to last day in the UK I headed to Paris via the Eurostar (trip through the chunnel....check). I had to get up at 5am local time to catch the bus to the train station. I'll let you figure out what time that was in US timezone. We drove around Paris a little so that the tour guide could point out some of the highlights, and then we headed to the Eiffel Tower for lunch (check). Then we got to look around a bit before heading down to the river for a riverboat cruise. We passed by a bunch of landmarks, include Notre Dame (was there and actually went inside 24 years earlier). After that we went to the Louvre. I ended up not going into the museum as I knew I would have just been fustrated to only have an hour to spend there (next trip). So I walked around the shops (Apple store...check) and the square outside where the big glass pyramid was. Then it was back to the train station for a bit of dinner and the 2.5 hour train ride back. Add another hour for the bus ride back to the hotel because of London traffic (it was 10pm...WTF?). So alot of time spent traveling, but still well worth the trip :-)

Hopefully you all recognize this...

Notre Dame from the rear...

This is Michelle, a Brazilian Television "News Presenter" that was part of my tour group. I let her practice her english on me, and she was pretty good at it too :-)

The Louvre Pyramid.

The brand new Apple Store inside the Louvre right next to the inverted pyramid.

And it wouldn't be Bucweat's Blog without an autostitch photo...
