Hi, You've found Charlie's blog. Every once in a while I'll add stuff. This is mainly an experiment with my iPhone, so don't expect much.

VLA
Well I managed to get to the Very Large Array (VLA) during the southern tour of NM I took on my birthday. Unfortunately it was getting kinda late when I arrived...sun had just set. Still managed a few nifty photos though...
Real rockets flying near Roswell, NM
Well not everything that flies in Roswell NM is an alien. Here is a picture of a rocket that was launched by Dr. Robert Goddard near Roswell NM. It was one of the last rockets launched by Dr Goddard, and is located in the Roswell Arts and Science Museum in the center of town.

Black and White photos from photography class
Took a photography class at the Torpedo Factory over the past few months. For the last three classes we took pictures with a Holga "toy" camera, developed the film negatives, and then printed a few of the negatives. Below are the three I printed. Definitely a lot more work than with a digital camera. Does give one a new found appreciation for the amount of effort that guys like Ansel Adams had to put in to get the wonderful photos they did.

Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and Dance Group
Went with a friend to see Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and Dance Group at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in Washington DC. There was quite a large crowd, so we ended up pretty far back from the stage. The sound was good though, and the show entertaining. Some of the segments included humor which was a surprise, and at one point some of the audience members were asked to join the dancers on stage.
Most of the pictures didn't come out so well due to lighting, distance, and lack of flash, but a few came out ok, and so I'm sharing them here. Enjoy :-)

Cherry Blossoms 2010
Went to the tidal basin in Washington DC on Thursday afternoon with some coworkers to check out the cherry blossoms. Brought my camera and got some decent shots. Have a look and enjoy :-)
